The Vereinigte Fettwarenindustrie in Wels is a Rauch family company. The roots of the family go back to the 18th century, when they operated a corn mill in the Tyrol.
The company began the production of edible oil in Innsbruck in 1945. They introduced the Kronenöl brand and quickly became a well-known brand throughout the country.
THE ROUTE TO SUCCESS The company steadily became a market leading producer of edible oils and fats under the leadership of DI Christian Rauch. After amalgamation, the Vereinigte Fettwarenindustrie (VFI) in its current headquarters in Wels is now the highest performing operation of its kind in Austria and is still owned by the family. VFI has become a powerful partner for the grocery trade, for business and for industry with its high quality products. Austria's entry into the European Union in 1995 offered new opportunities for VFI, especially in export. Under the management of Alfred Lehner and Florian Rauch, the Wels site has been quickly modernised and expanded and VFI has become an important supplier of vegetable fats and oils in Central Europe. A further stimulus was the takeover of edible oil and fat production from Unilever Vienna in 2002. In 2004, a fully automated high rack warehouse with space for 11,000 pallets was built, so that we could always keep available the products regularly required by our customers. VFI is today the clear market leader in Austria for edible oils and fats, with a broad range of products. It is now using this ideal starting point to sell its excellent products outside Austrian borders. |
